Designed events, brand activations and site-specific artwork for Calgary’s events district, home to Stampede Park and the BMO Centre.
Victoria Park is the Beltline’s events district. It holds Stampede Park, home of the Calgary Stampede every July, and the BMO Centre, a convention and trade show venue. KINN Studios is an artist-led experiential design studio based in Calgary, and we design events, activations, installations and murals for the brands, venues and businesses that work here.
For event work, our reference is Ma Chérie, a bridal shower we designed at Venue 308 in Calgary in March 2025. The centrepiece was a custom-built perfume cart, and the florals, tableware and dessert display followed one colour story, so the room read as a single design rather than a set of rentals.
Work in this district runs on event time. Load-in windows are short, every venue has its own production rules, and around Stampede everything books early. We plan backwards from the event date and design pieces that can be installed and removed inside the venue’s windows.
Set design, spatial planning and styling for private events, launches and corporate gatherings, designed around how guests arrive, gather and move through the room.
Brand activations and booths for conventions, trade shows and Stampede, designed for the venue’s rules, the crowds and ten days of heavy use.
Suspended and freestanding pieces for lobbies, patios and event spaces, with fabrication drawings and coordination with the venue’s production team.
Interior murals for restaurants and bars, and exterior walls in the Victoria Park BIA area, where permits and heritage buildings shape what is possible.
Artist-led interiors for hospitality and office spaces in new towers and historic buildings, from concept renderings through buildout.
In Victoria Park, a project might start with an event planner or brand booking a venue, an exhibitor preparing for a convention or for Stampede, a restaurant or bar owner in the district, or a developer with a new building. Each venue has its own production rules, so we confirm load-in times, rigging, power and fire requirements before we finalise a design.
Permanent work follows the City’s rules: exterior murals visible from public space may need a development permit under the Land Use Bylaw, and some buildings in the district carry heritage value. Temporary event builds follow the venue’s own requirements.
Budgets range from a single styled event to a multi-day convention booth or a permanent mural. We give a range at the first conversation and a fixed proposal once we know the venue and the date.
The Beltline page covers the rest of the neighbourhood. For planning, see our notes on what works in Stampede activations and event branding, or browse Services.
Event, interior and restaurant work from across Calgary.
Yes. Our studio is a short drive away, and we design events, convention and Stampede activations, installations and murals for venues and brands across the district.
For Stampede, start the winter before, because good suppliers and crews book early. For a convention booth or a private event, allow eight to twelve weeks for design, approvals and fabrication.
Yes. We confirm load-in and load-out windows, rigging points, power, flame-resistance and insurance requirements with the venue before we finalise the design, and we carry our own liability insurance.
Tell us about the space and we will come back with a clear next step.
