Our home quadrant. Public art, restaurant and retail murals, and artist-led interiors across the northeast, from Cornerstone and Skyview to Sunridge and Deerfoot City.
Northeast Calgary is where KINN Studios is based and where most of our built work stands. It is the most culturally diverse part of the city, with new communities like Cornerstone and Skyview, established ones like Falconridge and Sunridge, and large commercial sites including Deerfoot City. We design murals, public art, activations and interiors for the businesses, property owners and community organizations of the northeast.
Our largest project is Vibrance in Diversity, a 100-metre community mural along 80th Avenue NE completed in August 2025 for Ward 5 and the Love With Humanity Association. As lead artist, we developed the concept through surveys, pop-up engagement and a school workshop, weaving residents’ words and stories into a continuous narrative of everyday life in the northeast.
Other work in the quadrant includes the Lavish Beauty interiors and Brow Game Strong mural in Cornerstone, Mosaic Earth for Bud Mart Skyview, Across the Veil in Sunridge and Wings of Lahore in Falconridge.
Restaurant, retail and community murals across the northeast, interior and exterior. Our portfolio here includes Punjabi, Afghan and Pakistani restaurants, beauty and cannabis retail, and a 100-metre public fence mural.
Ward-funded, community-led and developer-commissioned public art, from engagement and concept through fabrication and installation. We are experienced with municipal review and community consultation.
Temporary builds for shopping centres, festivals and community events, including modular seating and planter installations.
Artist-led interior design for med spas, salons, restaurants and retail, with concept renderings, material selection and coordination through buildout. Lavish Beauty in Cornerstone is a full example.
Set design and spatial planning for cultural celebrations, launches and private events in northeast venues and banquet halls.
Northeast briefs come from every direction: a restaurant owner in Falconridge, a med spa opening in Cornerstone, or a ward office and community association funding a public mural. We have worked with all of these, and we adjust the process to fit. Community projects include engagement sessions and review; commercial projects move faster once the concept is approved.
Exterior murals visible from public space in Calgary may require a development permit under the Land Use Bylaw, and work on City land or fencing needs its own approvals. Interior murals typically do not need a permit. We research what applies and prepare the application.
Budgets range from a single restaurant wall to a ward-funded public art commission. We give a range at the first conversation and a fixed proposal after the site visit.
If you would like a sense of the numbers before we talk, our mural pricing guide and interior design cost guide are a good starting point. To see the full range of what we do, visit Services or read about the studio.
Most of our built work stands in the northeast. Here are three projects; more are on the Work page.
Yes. Our studio is in Cornerstone, in the northeast, and most of our built work is in this quadrant, from Vibrance in Diversity on 80th Avenue NE to interiors in Cornerstone and murals in Skyview, Sunridge and Falconridge.
Interior murals usually need four to eight weeks from approval to completion. Exterior and community murals should be planned over the winter for painting between May and October, with engagement time added for public projects. Interior design runs eight to sixteen weeks from concept to buildout.
Yes. We research whether a development permit or City land approval applies, prepare the drawings and submit on behalf of the owner or organization. Interior murals in Calgary typically do not require a permit.
