Founder & Creative Director

KINN Studios was founded by Kiran Rai-Bhullar, a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and creative director with roots in fine art, architecture, and cultural storytelling. With over a decade of experience in public art, murals, and creative direction, her work explores the intersections of space, identity, and impact.

Before founding the studio, Kiran worked across architectural design and construction, developing an instinct for how people move through and respond to space. That understanding became the foundation for a practice that bridges disciplines rather than choosing between them.

Her artistic voice is shaped by her Punjabi heritage and Canadian upbringing — the intersection and dualities of identity that come from holding two cultures at once. That tension between tradition and belonging, between rooted history and new ground, runs through everything the studio creates. She sees design as a quiet influence — subtle choices in form and expression that can shift how people feel, experience, and take ownership of a space.

We think in spaces, not surfaces.

The studio operates on a conviction that art and architecture are not separate disciplines. A mural is spatial. An interior is narrative. An installation is architecture, experienced at the scale of the body.

This is what sets KINN Studios apart. We do not decorate spaces. We design meaning into them, drawing on an architectural understanding of how light, material, scale, and sequence shape the way people feel when they enter a room, walk a corridor, or turn a corner in Calgary.
